Theragun’s Feel-Good Collab Just Made The Top Of Our Holiday Gift Lists

Therabody, the brand behind the bestselling Theragun, just launched a new device design that we can quite literally feel good about. The global organization dedicated to eradicating AIDS, (RED), has teamed up with our favorite massage-gun maker just in time for the holidays. (You may recognize (RED) from its past collaborations with brands like Apple, Beats, Gap, and even Durex condoms.) But, this limited-edition drop doesn’t just boast a cool aesthetic, it gives back during a time where vulnerable communities need it the most. For every (PRODUCT)RED Theragun purchased, 2% of the purchase price will directly benefit the organization’s Global Fund; money that directly supports (RED)’s work in stopping the spread of COVID-19, in addition to its impactful work in fighting HIV/AIDS during a global health crisis.

In honor of the collab, the entire suite of Theragun’s 4th gen models (the top-of-the-line PRO, Elite, and mini) have been reimagined with pops of red or, in the case of the $200 entry-level model, completely redone in a striking shade of ruby. And, since they’re limited-edition, once sold out these device designs are likely gone for good.

But, that’s not all that’s in store: come early 2021, Therabody will also release a (PRODUCT)RED range of its organic CBD products, with the same 2% donation pledge. Below, take a peek at the full lineup of this new Theragun collection and shop it for a holiday gift that gives back.

Top Stories: iPhone 12, HomePod Mini, MagSafe Accessories, and More

It came about a month later than in most years, but this week finally saw Apple’s media event where it showed off its new iPhone lineup. As expected, we got four new devices in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro lineups with staggered release dates, and Apple also showed off the upcoming HomePod, a much smaller and cheaper smart speaker compared to the standard HomePod.

Apple’s media event obviously dominated the news this week, including not just the main hardware but also the new MagSafe ecosystem of accessories coming with the iPhone 12. This week also saw the start of pre-orders for the fourth-generation iPad Air, as well as some rumors about a possible Mac-focused event in November, so read on for all of the details!

Everything Announced at the Apple Event in 7 Minutes

Apple this week hosted its second event in as many months, introducing its long-awaited iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro lineup, the all-new HomePod mini, and a collection of MagSafe chargers and accessories that magnetically attach to the back of the new iPhones.

While the event ran for just over an hour, we’ve condensed everything that Apple announced into a seven-minute video.

Looking ahead, rumors suggest that the first Mac with a custom Apple Silicon processor will be unveiled in November, potentially at yet another event. We’re also still waiting on some long-rumored products like a new gaming-focused Apple TV, AirTags item trackers, and AirPods Studio over-ear headphones, but release dates for those things are less certain.

For more detailed coverage of Apple’s announcements this week, check out the rest of our top stories below.

Apple Unveils iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max With 5G, Flat-Edge Design, LiDAR Scanner, and More

This year’s flagship iPhones have arrived with the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, both of which feature a new flat-edge design with slightly slimmer bezels, compatibility with 5G networks, a faster A14 Bionic chip, improved cameras, a LiDAR Scanner for enhanced augmented reality, a new Pacific Blue color, improved durability, and more.

As was rumored, iPhone 12 models ship without EarPods or a charger in the box. Apple touted the environmental benefits of no longer bundling these accessories, noting that the move reduces carbon emissions and avoids the mining and use of rare-earth elements. Removing these accessories has also resulted in iPhone 12 models shipping in a thinner box. EarPods and a power adapter can be purchased separately for a reduced price of $19 each.

Apple never reveals how much RAM is in iPhones, but Xcode reveals that both the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have an increased 6GB of RAM, while the lower-end iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini remain at 4GB like iPhone 11 models. As for performance, early benchmark results show that the iPhone 12 lineup is around 20-25% faster than the iPhone 11 lineup.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 Pro are underway in many countries, while the iPhone 12 Pro

Jurong Bird Park’s senior birds retire in style, Environment News & Top Stories

A new exhibit has been created to house some special feathered residents at Jurong Bird Park, said Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS).

Situated next to the Hawk Arena, the new aviary accommodates the park’s pioneer generation of birds that have retired from the Kings of the Skies show.

While they might have left the limelight, the eight birds of prey from six different species will continue to delight and enjoy their retirement under the watchful care of their keepers.

Birds from different species mixing in the aviary is actually good for them, as it stimulates them both physically and mentally, said WRS.

The oldest resident is Rod Stewart, an Egyptian vulture that might be close to 60 years old. Birds of his species have a 21-year life-span in the wild. He now wears a white bib across his chest to prevent him from picking at an old wound.

“By opening the aviary to the public, we hope guests can appreciate these elderly animals and learn how modern zoos care for them,” said Dr Cheng Wen Haur, WRS deputy chief executive and chief life sciences officer.

Just like people, many of these older birds have common age-related ailments, experiencing muscle atrophy and vision loss as well as having to take medication.

Carlos and Jose, two American black vulture siblings, receive daily medicine in their food for arthritis and to keep them active. Otherwise, the 22-year-old brothers are in good physical condition, preferring to perch high up on the aviary.

All animals that have reached 75 per cent of their expected lifespan are placed under a senior animal care plan across WRS’ four wildlife parks.

Without having to fend off predators or diseases, and with access to food and quality healthcare, animals under human care tend to live longer than their counterparts in the wild.

Under WRS’ plan, older animals benefit from customised diet and exercise, as well as more frequent visits from the vets.

They also receive a full health check every six months and are assessed by their keepers and by vets for any health or mobility issues.

The senior animal care plan seeks to slow down the onset of age-related diseases and to ensure the animals continue to enjoy quality life in their twilight years, added Dr Cheng.

Thousands Protest Trump’s Supreme Court Pick at Washington Women’s March | Top News

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Thousands marched to the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington on Saturday to commemorate the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and protest President Donald Trump’s rush to push through Amy Coney Barrett as her replacement.

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled an Oct. 22 vote on the nomination of Barrett, a conservative appellate judge, over objections from Democrats that the confirmation process comes too close to the Nov. 3 presidential election.

More than 26 million Americans have already cast their ballots for who they want to sit in the White House for the next four years, Trump or his Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Demonstrators at the Women’s March said they were angry that Republicans appear ready to confirm Barrett’s nomination so close to Election Day after refusing to move forward Merrick Garland, the pick of former President Barack Obama, a Democrat, more than six months ahead of the 2016 election.

“The fact of the matter is that we are powerful and they are afraid,” said Sonja Spoo, the director of the reproductive rights campaigns at UltraViolet, a feminist advocacy group, one of the speakers at the protest. “They are on the ropes and they know it and we are about to give the knock-out punch.”

Ginsburg, a liberal champion of women’s rights, died on Sept. 18.

Prudence Sullivan, 49, from Lake in the Hills, Illinois, near Chicago, and her sister Kelli Padgett, 47, from Jacksonville, Florida, flew in to join what they described as an energizing and empowering event.

“We’ve had losses from COVID and we’ve clashed with family members over racism, Black Lives Matter,” Sullivan said. “So this is something where I can put my money where my mouth is.”

Sullivan said she and her husband, an IT expert, were looking at options for moving overseas if Trump was reelected.

The protesters marched through downtown Washington to the Supreme Court steps. Hundreds of marches and demonstrations were planned https://map.womensmarch.com/?eventType=oct-17-march at city halls, parks and monuments across the country.

In confirmation hearings this week, Barrett side-stepped https://www.reuters.com/article/usa-court-barrett-climate/environmentalists-democrats-fault-trump-court-pick-barrett-on-climate-evasion-idINKBN2702L3 questions about presidential powers, abortion, climate change, voting rights and Obamacare, saying she could not answer because cases involving these matters could come before the court.

If Barrett takes a seat on the Supreme Court, conservatives would have a 6-3 majority.

Bulgari Goes For Baroque With A Trio Of Over-The Top Jewelry Watches

Bulgari has never been shy when it comes to bold colors and elaborate design, which makes Barocko one of the most pure Bulgari collections to come out in awhile. The three high jewelry watches pay homage to the drama and grandeur of the baroque architecture in Rome, where Bulgari was founded and is still headquartered today. “Barocko means meraviglia, which means “marvels” or “illusions,” says Fabrizio Buonamassa, Bvlgari’s product creation director. “It means filling empty space with new proportions. The baroque movement began as a rebellion from the predictable strict lines of classicism, with voluptuous shapes and intricate complexity,” he says.

All three of the Barocko watches are secret watches, with decorative cases covering the dials. The Octo Roma Arabesque is a baroque embroidery of pink sapphires, tourmalines, emeralds and diamonds, all prong set to allow for plenty of light refraction. The setting also lifts the gem out of the metal for a more 3D composition.

What’s under the hood is even more impressive. Lifting the case cover reveals an openworked rendition of one of Bulgari’s six world-record technological achievements: the world’s thinnest tourbillon, caliber BVL 268, previously used in men’s watches.

Next up is the Lady Arabesque, with a case topped by a single 12-carat rubellite cabochon. It is surrounded by nearly 30 carats of pink sapphires, Paraiba tourmalines and emeralds that surround arabesque swirls of gold set with 13 carats of diamonds in various shapes.

The Serpenti Misteriosi High-Jewellery Baroque Pearls secret watch is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that took 2,300 hours to create. There is a lot going on with this watch. It is set with more than 220 Akoya pearls, a nod to the natural, irregular-shaped pearls that were typically used in jewelry of  the Baroque period – irregular shaped pearls have been dubbed “baroque” pearls ever since. Separating each pearl is a diamond-set ring. On the next layer, surrounding and partially covering the rows of pearls, are several diamond pavé swirls. On the top layer, coiling around the entire composition, is a 3D sculptural rendition of the serpent, Bulgari’s signature motif. It is set with diamonds as well as emerald eyes, matching the 12-carat emerald cabochon that tops the dial cover.

Bulgari’s advantage as a long-time jewelry company, with in-house master gemcutters and stone sourcing experts, really shines through here. Pieces like these are typical of the types of ladies’ watches that dominate auction sales, and the addition of a high-watchmaking mechanical movement adds even more value.

‘Asia’s Next Top Model’ Host, Activist Appointed UN Women Ambassador

(Bloomberg) — A Thai-American model and actress has been appointed a UN Women regional goodwill ambassador to stem violence against women two years after she sparked a campaign against sexual harassment called #DontTellMeHowToDress.

Cindy Bishop, a Bangkok-based model, actress and television celebrity who is the host of “Asia’s Next Top Model,” Thursday was appointed a UN Women regional goodwill ambassador for Asia Pacific to promote gender equality and address domestic violence.

“There’s more conversation around sexual harassment, people have been more vocal and more women have taken to social media,” Bishop said in a phone interview. “For actual change in terms of policy, reduction of sexual violence, I feel there is still a lot more to be done.”

Bishop created the hashtag #DontTellMeHowToDress to focus on men’s behavior instead of the way women dress after a Thai government official in 2018 suggested women should dress conservatively to avoid sexual harassment. The movement ended up garnering more support in Thailand than #MeToo.

Since then she has become Thailand’s leading campaigner on ending violence against women and received an “Activist of the Year” award from the office of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha, according to the UN’s statement.

Thailand, like many other countries, has seen a rise in domestic violence cases during the coronavirus pandemic amid economic and other stresses, Bishop said. Help lines in Singapore and Cyprus have had a more than 30% increase in call volume, while in Australia 40% of frontline workers surveyed reported increased requests for help with violence, according to a UN Women report.

Though Thailand has been lauded for its success in handling the coronavirus outbreak, it has been faced with the worst economic crisis. The government passed a $60 billion stimulus plan to address the slump, with the finance ministry forecasting a record 8.5% economic contraction this year and millions of jobs at risk.

“Unfortunately, Covid has exacerbated the problems of domestic violence, especially gender-based violence, it’s put us back quite a lot,” Bishop said. “Although Thailand is more fortunate in terms of number of cases, when we were in lockdown, economic problems added stress to already volatile situations.”

“It’s not an easy situation for anyone but women are disproportionate affected by Covid-19 when it comes to having to deal with violence,” she added.

Discover the Top 7 Lead Generation Methods for Your Business (And Understand Them)

Just like the classic real estate industry question: "What are the TOP 3 most important features of any property?" (location, location, location) – the single most important fuel you'll ever create, buy or wish you had for your business is leads, leads, leads! Doesn't it make sense to know and understand the top 7 ways to generate leads?

Production Method # 1:

Direct Visual Impact. Impact? Really? Really! Unfortunately, when it comes to direct lead generation like it has been done for decades, most people get it wrong. It doesn't matter if it is a sign on the side of your vehicle, building or bandit signs, you must be direct, powerful and short with your message. Your colors must be bright and high contrast. Yellow and black signs work best, period. The sign area must be maximized so that letters are as big as possible. Become a sign sage – evaluate readability, placement and "attention factor" of every sign you see. Emulate the best of what you see.

Production Method # 2:

It is very important that you become hyper-aware of the power of coupons. You can easily make a business card that is also a coupon. When you do this, you are adding huge power to every card you give out. Can you put flyers on car windows? If you put a flyer on my windshield, it makes me want to meet you to give you a piece of my mind. When you put a valuable coupon the size of a business card just above my door handle in the window rubber, I will put it in my wallet – BIG difference!

Production Method # 3:

The US Post Office (USPS) is now offering delivery of an 8 "x 11" flyer for 16 cents per mail box. This is an amazing deal. It gets better. You can sell advertising on a flyer to other businesses that do not compete with you and cover your cost. Please understand, you can get 5,000 double sided color flyers that are plastic coated for about $ 400. You can see, with both sides available for ads (coupons) you'll have plenty of space to sell and at the same time, your ad (coupon) appears on a portion of the same flyer. This is endless free advertising in exchange for a little work. You could even make money while getting your ad for free!

Production Method # 4:

We all hate email SPAM, don't we? However, you may not realize that you have probably responded to a SPAM email at some time. From that email, you may have built trust in the person who sent you the original SPAM. SPAM is legal if you follow some simple rules – Google it. Major corporations use legal email SPAM. Most people don't realize that the SPAM law is actually the CAN-SPAM law (meaning you can spam as long as you follow a half dozen simple rules).

How can you do it so no one gets upset? Offer …

Top Ten Fashion Trends From the 1940’s

Rationing:

World War II impacted virtually every aspect of American life and fashion was no exception. In 1942, the United States imposed a rationing system similar to the one Great Britain had implemented the previous year, limiting, among other things, the amount of fabric that could be used in a single garment. Materials including wool, silk, leather and a fledgling DuPont Corp. invention called nylon were diverted for use in uniforms, parachutes, shoelaces and even bomber noses.

Jackets could be no more than 25 inches in length, pants no more than 19 inches in circumference at the hem, belts no more than two inches wide and heels no more than an inch in height. Hemlines rose to the knee in an effort to conserve fabric. Buttons, cuffs, pockets and decorative details like ruffles and lace were used sparingly. Women wore shorter, boxy jackets for a V-shaped silhouette reminiscent of military uniforms. Even Hollywood traded elaborate costumes for simplified designs, a move many claimed lent movies a new air of realism.

Nylon:

As soon as it was introduced in 1938, women embraced synthetic nylon as a replacement for silk stockings. In the early 1940s, however, with silk already diverted to the war effort, the government recognized similar uses for nylon and commandeered it as well. Women responded by coating their legs in tan makeup and drawing lines up the backs of their calves to mimic seams. By the time the war ended and stockings returned to store shelves, nylon had become a generic term for hosiery.

Swing skirts.

The swing skirt had a round cut designed to look best in full jitterbug twirl. Swing skirts were a common sight on USO dance floors as young women danced with uniformed men to the jazzy horns that characterized the Big Band Era. Housewives were known to wear a more conservative version of the swing dress, sometimes in polka-dot or tiny floral prints.

Hats:

Hats became one of the few ways to express individual style with minimal resources. They were worn in a wide range of styles and personalized with scraps of foil, sequins, netting, paper and string.

Hair and makeup:

Hairstyles became more elaborate as women sought ways to contrast their dull wardrobes. Shoulder length or longer hair was rolled into complex shapes and secured with bobby pins. Screen sirens like Lauren Bacall, Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth popularized side parts and finger waves. Makeup was dramatic, characterized by matte foundation, powder, heavy brows and bright scarlet lips.

Platform pumps:

The wartime shortage of leather and steel forced shoe designers to get more creative and, as a result, shoes were cobbled from materials ranging from crocodile hide to cork. Shoes were more utilitarian than stylish, with low heels and limited color choices. By the mid to late 1940s, platform pumps with high heels in T-straps, ankle straps or open toes had replaced the dowdy wedgie with its flat shape and thick cork soles.

Menswear as womens wear:

A number of men may have …

What Are the Top Things to Know About Biker Jewelry?

The glider who respires in fervors of briskness, courage, and dare is the authentic hero over the bike. This definite Adam owns that exquisite valor quotient, which represents to him the venture of cruising most challenging of paths as the easiest of jobs. This character trait also stimulates the rider to accomplish nothing else but victory over the pulse-failing narrow roadways and heart-stoking alpine landscapes. The 1500 cc motorized mare at his possession turns out to be the real Pegasus-by which the cruiser ventures out in beating breeze’s pace, dodging fog’s mystery and winning over monsoon’s profoundness. The exquisite moxie which a glider owns stands as matchless when compared to the virility of other men. And that is cardinal because of the afore-mentioned person’s halting-at-nothing attitude. A real road-cruiser nullifies all sorts of voyage perils and relentlessly carries on with his speed-sequenced wanderlust. The self-reliance of operating the bike in a holistic personalized maneuver, in any and every ambiance, cardinally works behind the build-up of the afore-mentioned daunting characteristic trait.

However, along with gaining triumph over the lethal twists and turns of roads, a rider is also required to pay heed over an enticing aspect. The impeccably bold one should demonstrate a mind-riveting groomed demeanor while surpassing the air-flow and giving the beholders a miss of breath. This deck-up is pleasurably indispensable in order to make the rider’s buoyant machismo all the more pronounced to the world. Retaining a complete set or at the minimum, one token of Biker Jewelry is a must for a pro glider. Donning such pieces, along with the brown/black jacket and exquisite spiked boots, innately panache-fills the MR Cruiser’s mystique and adds up to his peerless aura.

Enticement of the timeless trinkets

Prior to endeavoring over purchasing these enthralling jewelry, a rider must acquire a fair-enough prudence about the rich heritage of this bauble genre. Though inherently voguish in their look and statement, these exclusive doodads have remained in trend from as early as the 1950s. The enigmatic gliders of those days conventionally chose the turgid bracelet (of either steel or silver) and the dapper diamond studs of ears as the righteous frills to sequence their adventurous virility.

Nevertheless, at pace with the progressive ardor of contemporary time-stretch, the domain of Biker Jewelry too has experienced an evolved transformation. The ace fad visionaries and skillful artists have introduced to the world-wide rider fraternity an array of beguiling macho adornments-each of which is distinctive from another, over the aspects of texture and attitude-expression. The pre-eminently celebrated trinkets include:

The cultured diamond-patterned or modish cubic zirconium designed tops for the ears that flawlessly catch on to the wind’s resonance.

Neck Leather ropes graced with Cross-shaped or Flame-textured pendants that can perfectly render the cruiser’s profile a bucolic vibe. As for accents, with finesse, the neck symmetry, the urbane shimmering and slender steel muff-chains, the refined gold/platinum cufflinks and the personality-depicting stone-patched hemp can also be availed of.
