‘Death On The Nile’ Will Feature Lady Gaga’s Tiffany & Co. Diamond

Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile is coming to the big screen, directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Letitia Wright, and more. And to aid in the 1930s-inspired visual, the movie is partnering with none other than Tiffany & Co. The timeless jewelry brand re-created massive pieces, leant a yellow and white diamond array seen throughout the film, and curated a collection that will be shown in a number of Tiffany stores throughout the world.

Perhaps the most massive endeavor is the re-creation of the iconic 128-carat Tiffany Diamond, which is the center of Gadot’s storyline throughout the film. The real version is perhaps most recently known for its appearance at the 2019 Academy Awards on the neck of Lady Gaga. And, though none is quite as jaw-dropping as that single diamond, Gadot dons a full array of other white and yellow diamond Tiffany & Co. jewelry throughout the showing.

Though the new film doesn’t come out until Dec. 18, you can catch glimpses of the jewelry worn by Gadot in the trailer below. And, when it does arrive, Tiffany will be curating a global selection of white and yellow diamond pieces to be sold alongside the film, just in time for the holiday season.

Since Rebag’s founding in 2014, the reseller site has built a small empire of gently-used designer used bags, everything from vintage Fendi to one-of-a-kind Hermès Birkins. Earlier this year, they launched a selection of accessories, and now the company is expanding even further by venturing into watches and fine jewelry.

Starting today, not only can shoppers select from Rebag’s edit of timepieces and jewels, they can also sell their own heirlooms for an instant online payment or Rebag credit. This new product category further’s the retailer’s mission of encouraging customers to create a sustainable, revolving door wardrobe. Buy, wear, sell, repeat.

All of the heavy hitters are represented: Rolex Datejusts are curated alongside Tiffany &. Co., Bvlgari, and more, so you can drop a new timepiece into your shopping bag while picking up this fall’s hottest carry-all. Entry-level prices start at around $180, but skyrocket to almost six figures for rarer pieces like a diamond-encrusted Patek Philippe. Casual.

You’ve been telling yourself to stop staring at your phone in quarantine. What better way to start keeping track of time than with a brand “new” Rolex?

The Meaning Behind The Stones & Which Baubles To Buy

The origin of birthstones supposedly dates back to the biblical era, and are based on a Hebrew high priest’s ceremonial garment embedded with 12 stones, each representing one of Israel’s original tribes. As history progressed, enterprising Medieval scholars saw a correspondence between the stones and the stars, and the gems acquired an association with the astrological signs of the Greco-Roman zodiac. In the early 20th century, Tiffany outlined monthly birthstones in their “Natal Stones” pamphlet, borrowing from a host of influences.

No matter how these monthly assignations came to be, our collective belief in birthstones has not wavered throughout centuries of social change — the idea that there’s a gemstone out there assigned to your special celestial you-ness is still a celebrated one. And when you’re trying to communicate to a loved one just how special they are, there’s nothing like the gift of a mythologically meaningful mineral. And, as you can see from this list, each of these stones has an astrologically significant meaning. So if you’re looking to fill your cart with some personal gems this season, look no further. We’ve rounded up the best birthstone jewelry we could find, from delicate stud earrings to eye-popping antique cocktail rings, for that unique someone.

At Refinery29, we’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. If you buy something we link to on our site, Refinery29 may earn commission.

Alexandra Ocasio Cortez Wore Mejuri For Her ‘Vanity Fair’ Cover Shoot

Hi, it’s me, coming at you after a full hour of gagging over how amazing AOC looks on the cover of Vanity Fair. Everyone’s favorite rep absolutely killed it, and in addition to providing us with a thoughtful interview, our girl served some looks, too. My personal faves featured my go-to jewelry brand—yep, that’s right, Alexandra Ocasio Cortez wore Mejuri during her Vanity Fair photoshoot, and you can shop her exact necklace and channel all her superwoman energy.

AOC graces the cover of the magazine’s latest issue in nothing but a crisp Aliétte suit and her signature bold red lip. At first, I assumed she might stick to a more toned-down look for the entirety of the shoot, but the pages of the magazine told a different tale. She wowed in a navy-and-white polka dot dress by Wales Bonner, accented by some pricy pearl earrings by Mateo and a subtle bubble pony. For the most part, though, she did stick with suits, including a beautiful blue number by the insanely talented Christopher John Rogers and a fringed statement suit by Loewe.

Our mission at STYLECASTER is to bring style to the people, and we only feature products we think you’ll love as much as we do. Please note that if you purchase something by clicking on a link within this story, we may receive a small commission of the sale.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez finds power in her iconic red lipstick—Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid in Beso, to be specific. In fact, she notably delivered her political dunk against Ted Yoho in her trademark red. Afterward, Rep. Ayanna Pressley said to her: “‘You know how I know you showed up to do business? Because you matched your lip with your suit,’” Ocasio-Cortez recalls. “[Ayanna] was like, ‘That’s when I knew she didn’t come to play.’” And now, @AOC acknowledges that she had, in fact, come to the floor in bold colors to give herself a little extra confidence. “I had a little war paint on that day, for sure.” Read the cover story at the link in bio. With both of her bold suits, AOC, opted for an understated (but still sparkly!) necklace to finish off her look. And ladies and gentlemen, it’s none other than Mejuri’s Diamonds Line Necklace, which won’t cost you more than $310. Here’s a pro tip: If a $300 necklace can hold its own when paired with earrings that cost over $2K, you know it’s good purchase. Yes, I’ve already added it to my cart.

Had she wanted to, AOC could’ve graced the cover of Vanity Fair in fashion’s most standout pieces. She could’ve opted for feathers, glitter, tulle! Instead, she stuck with her signature look and proved classic and reliable can be just as impactful—especially

Mejuri x Frame Launch Joint Collection

One of the biggest celebrity jewelry trends of the past few years has been chunky gold jewelry – whether it’s earrings, bracelets, or necklaces. Supermodels like Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber can’t get enough of this trend, which is a little bit ’80s flashy but totally 2020 and modern too! Internet favorite jewelry brand Mejuri is teaming up with celeb fave clothing line Frame for an exclusive collection of jewelry Kendall, Hailey, and their crew would definitely love. (Selena Gomez is also a Mejuri fan.) The two brands describe their collaboration as “an exclusive collection of fine jewelry and sophisticated wardrobe staples inspired by the French icons of the 1970s.” The four pieces are “handmade with 18k gold vermeil” and exude a casually cool vibe, as they can truly be worn with anything and everything. Prices range from $150 for the Le Textured Hoops to $495 for the  Le Chain Necklace.

While the pieces are a splurge, price-wise, they’re versatile and classic and will look as great this year as they will in five years. The Le Chain Earring would pair perfectly with FRAME x Mejuri ‘s Le Hollywood jeans and their FRAME x Mejuri Muscle Tee but also with a fabulous dress, and the Le Chain Bracelet is something you can wear with literally everything in your closet and layer up for different looks each day.

This post was contributed by a community member. The views expressed here are the author’s own.

83 year-old jewelry artist, Nettie Laurita, a mother of eleven, resides at The Bristal Assisted Living at Wayne. One of Nettie’s greatest passions is creating spiritual jewelry, which she hopes will attract Guardian Angels.

Nettie’s daughters Caroline Manzo, Dina Manzo, and her son Chris Laurita have been featured in a prominent reality television series and have worn her creations on the program.

Ms. Laurita’s expertise is greatly appreciated by fellow residents of The Bristal who flock to her weekly classes and enjoy the challenge of creating unique pieces of jewelry under her guidance. According to Nettie, “My classes are not just about the intricacies of designing jewelry, or the artistic expression it allows, but more importantly it enables my fellow residents to socialize with one another, build new relationships and walk away from each class with a sense of accomplishment and a big smile on their face.”

Nettie says that, “All of us at The Bristal are like extended family, both residents and staff. It gives me great pleasure that we can work together and enjoy our creative efforts. Personal supportive relationships are always important, particularly during this difficult COVID time we are living through.”

Nettie has a workshop set up in her apartment – so in addition to sharing her expertise with her neighbors at The Bristal, she has crafted pieces of jewelry for each of The Bristal’s staff members in honor of their Staff Appreciation Week and she is now working on a handmade wooden centerpiece of pilgrims for The Bristal’s main lobby for Thanksgiving.

Rebag Dives Into Fine Jewelry and Watches

It’s been six years since the launch of Rebag, a digital luxury handbag resale platform. They’ve extended the second (third, or fourth) lives of high-end handbags and small accessories. As of today, the company will further dig their heels into the luxury sector by adding fine jewelry and watches to their business. So, along with your Birkin or Box bag, you can pick up a Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT II-Pepsi Dial watch, or a Van Cleef Alhambra necklace.

“Our ambition is to offer customers a relevant platform to execute resale services on a large scale,” says CEO of Rebag, Charles Gorra. “Our entry into watches and jewelry was the logical next step. While these categories have their own specificities, they also share many characteristics with luxury handbags.”

From the outside, Gorra’s decision may seem curious, with a troubled economy and predictions of a double digit contraction in global personal luxury sales for this year from both Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company. But, as recently as last week, other studies and statistics show that, when it comes to jewelry, the sales aren’t as dire as predicted and McKinsey & Company does make mention of a small improvement for 2021.

With an eye on both the past and the future, Rebag’s launch could be a smart investment with online luxury sales increasing even before the shuttering of many brick and mortar stores and the fallout from COVID-19. That, along with the sheer fact that the resale business can also offer a discount that comes buying a pre owned anything. Below, some of our favorites from the initial offering.

Sustainable, New York-based jewelry brand Aurate is known for its fine jewelry and close to at-cost prices. But because the brand’s styles are mostly quite delicate, a travel pouch that suits this type of jewelry is necessary when going places with your pieces. No more wearing every piece of jewelry you want to bring with you on a trip all at once. No more tangling your face mask chains when they’re not in use. Avoid tangles and losses with Aurate’s just-dropped Travel Pouch.

Available in a fitting (and gorgeous) jewel-toned emerald hue, the Aurate Travel Pouch is made from a vegan leather so deceptively faux that, upon unboxing my own, I couldn’t believe it wasn’t completely real. Its slender profile offers the appearance of a chic clutch purse, but inside is a highly-considered assortment of fasteners, a ring bar, and a detachable mini pouch — a secure place for every piece you have. It’s beautiful, functional, and made of high-quality sustainable materials, so it’s the only travel case I’ll be using for my jewelry for the foreseeable future.

Here's how to protect your necklaces, rings, and face mask chains.

Keep your delicate necklaces from tangling with the pouch’s dedicated necklace fasteners, which elongate your chains and keep them from getting caught on themselves or others. The ring bar in the center of the pouch portfolio can fit up to 10 good-sized rings, but countless delicate, stackable ones.

Wear face mask chains? Keep them tidy in the Travel Pouch when you’re not using them or when you’re out and about and need the option to swap out your silver for your gold.
